i think my experiences last night was related to trayvon case. i used a groupon and went to a hamburger pub. on my way in - the place had been a steakhouse- a clean middle class black couple - patrons- held door open for me. on the way out, the same thing happened. there were few blacks in the restaurant - i didn't notice any. i was a bit surprised at the courtesy - unfortunately i rarely see it from anyone. i reflexively said thank you. on way home, i stopped at a gas station - dunkin donut, etc. to buy 3 mega millions tickets. agains a clean middle class black held door for me and i was surprised and said thank you. it is unusual to see people being so polite. i guess i see it in a tv commercial of people doing the right thing. i think a lot of blacks are reacting to trayvan case - taking geraldo's spiel to another plane. these folks may not think sharpton is the one to follow. perhaps rye brook and greenwich are not a scientific sample.
