There will be a wrongful death suit by the Martin family against the gated community and against Zimmerman. The burden of proof will be preponderance of evidence - not beyond a reasonable doubt and Zimmerman will have to testify in a discovery deposition or be found liable. Zimmerman's friend will also have his deposition taken about what Zimmerman told him.
