Even then, no one would know who actually initiated the physical struggle. Zimmerman could have approached Martin, said some "dissing" words, and Martin could have reacted violently. In that case, it would still be self-defense. One thing is for sure. I don't think people in the media, especially celebrities, should be publicly crucifying Zimmerman for what he did.
