For someone who is "not qualified to recommend firearms", you sure do a good job of faking it! LOL

Either of the two you posted make excellent carry guns. I like, also, the 'airweight' .38s with concealed hammers .. such as the S&W 442 (below). Just as reliable as any revolver, and even less places for 'purse litter' to get into the mechanism. Plus, they are lightweight, easy to master, and are accurate at any normal 'defensive gun fight' range (1 - 8 feet)... I've even shot them at 25 yards and very seldom miss the vital area of silhouette targets. They will handle the 38 +P too, for just a bit more 'oomph'! One can be had new for right around $425 or so, give or take. Also available in stainless, or titanium as a .357.
