My wife has a .38 Special 5 shot revolver. Having it makes her feel more comfortable at home when I am away working, sometimes several days and nights back to back. Her gun is an off brand, and is somewhat bulky and heavy. I'll probably need to get her one of the newer fancier lighter models.

I am convinced a hammerless 38 revolver or (for more experienced shooters a 357 revolver) is perfect for a primary purse gun.

Excellent for men too, even if he doesn't carry a purse.

Very experienced shooters can move up, but by then they will know why.
