<<<George, So if you bought an MKII, you wouldn't have to integrate another piece of hardware>>>

J Fieb, George is right. You wouldn't have to but you could if so desire. As George pointed out, performance is the key. MKII is a single well tuned FC switch fabric. Switch ports and FC_AL ports share the same back plane. Passing data back and forth will be done as a single unit. Brocade and another hub supplier such as Gadzooz combined to provide a similar function will no doubt increase the latency value and magnify exponentially if more switch and hubs are cascaded. I've heard also from reliable sources that Gadzooz's 'switch' is a small system device which is designed to connect to mainstream fabrics such as Brocade or Ancor.
