Coal consumption is not going down. Coal consumption dip last year in the US, but worldwide the consumption is moving up. China consumption is >3 billion tonnes and increasing as GDP increases. China just over took Japan as the largest importer of coal. Also, India coal consumption is moving up as they boost their economy.
