His Daddy once had a badge (yes Judges do) and is powerful, the community approves of profiling, and Stand Your Ground laws provide cover, or according to the writers of such laws, been interpreted too liberally. Read Jon Turley's blog or similar, or talk to people actually in the Criminal Justice System -- Empowered local police are highly subject to their POLITICAL community. Additionally, while not as bad as vigilantes, they make big mistakes sometimes. That is why we prefer civilian control of Government. That is a major reason why we choose costly due process in a courtroom (Trayvon will not appear thanks to Zimmerman's pursuit and killing of him.)
