Cut military spending (think Ron Paul). Fix medical cost. Not some stupid nibbling at the edges but come together as a nation to figure out what we can do - MUST DO - to fix it. SS looked to be an unfixable problem in the 80's and we managed to fix it. But we weren't in these stupid ideological corners we now climb into. Get the federal government out of many things such as education and farm subsidies and unemployment. If the states want to do that - let them - BUT without federal monies. Welllll, that's a start.
