TED: Humbly report, Sir, I found the quotations book, but stumbled over the empty bottle, dropped the book, and all the pages spilled all over the floor of the mail room. A wind picked up, mixed them all up, and whooshed a lot of them out the window. I have taken it upon myself to try and find the happy ending. Here are some of the pages that I humbly retrieved:
You are fooled, discarded, and shook off By him for whom these shames ye underwent. --Shakespeare. For, fooled with hope, men favor the deceit. --Dryden.
Can they think me . . . their fool or jester? --Milton. Experience keeps a dear school, but fools will learn in no other. --Franklin.
Bid me discourse, I will enchant thine ear. --Shakespeare.
In various talk the instructive hours they passed. --Pope. In their discourses after supper. --Shakespeare. Of excellent breeding, admirable discourse. --Shakespeare.
If I may, I will leave the remainder of the quotations book pages on the mail room floor, as they keep it nice and warm, absorb any spills, and make it easier for me to clean up after the dogs. On occasion I will humbly report, if I find any quotes worthy of the associates' appropriate attention.
Norm: I will deal with all certs request as I did with the pile of posts.
lavalamp: Sorry.
Napping in cozy comfort surrounded by history, in search of a happy ending, I humbly remain, yours truly,
