<Hail Obama or is it Heil Obama, this guy is dangerous>
Based on what I have read, you would likely say the same thing about any Democratic President. Its hard to debate silo partisanship, its more like dealing with a nasty divorce lawyer, than having any reasonable discussion.
Believe me, Liberals are not happy about Obama either. But that is about his (old-style) conservative administration. Many of us wanted FDR., or even TR for that matter. Obama's nature is to compromise, in the modern U.S.A. tradition before the new right wing party-over-country movement, when the GOP went over-the-top and took us back to 1860 in tone.
But we respect Obama as a highly intelligent and ethical person. His is open, his life has been honorable. He is a great American story. You should be very, very proud that he overcame so much to become your President. America is respected again by the moderate world; not just feared for our military power and exploitation.
Still, there is not much to say to those who believe he is a Muslim, and that he is not legitimate as President because he has no U.S. birth certificate, that he is like Hitler, yadda yadda yadda. You can't reason with such paranoia. propaganda, and willful blindness. The hell with the locked-and-loaded far right knuckleheads. Its better that we liberals address more moderate Americans anyway. |
