I respectfully disagree. You defend spending on premature infants - because that is important to you. But it is disingenuous to complain about government entitlements when you defend some of them. Maybe when you turn into an old raisin - you'll have more compassion for old people. Maybe that really old person who worked hard all their lives now find themselves in a hard financial position. Is it some how more compassionate to help one group and not the other? Isn't that playing God - with you determining who gets the help? Here's another example for you; a small child walks into water and drowns and then medics are able to revive the child. As it turns out the child is alive, but brain function is almost gone to the point the child is bed ridden and can only blow bubbles. The parents are separated and now have no income. Close to 20 years later, that child is an adult. The father is now completely gone and the mother spends all her time taking care of her only child. Want to play God with this example too? It's a true story. What happens after the mother gets too old to care for her son? What happens to the mother in her old age as she has been unable to work so she could care for the boy? She was very productive before the accident.
