Yahaziel Israel and Julius Bender.

Shouldn't we be shown how innocent they looked as 12 yo's? Let's all be thankful the 50 yo victim was unarmed.

SANFORD, Fla. - Seminole County sheriff's deputies arrested two men they say beat another man with a hammer so badly, he was put on life support.

Yahaziel Isacc Israel, 19, and Julius Ricardo Bender, 18, were arrested and charged with burglary with assault or battery, burglary of a dwelling structure and attempted homicide from the March 26 incident.

Deputies said Israel and Bender were spotted by neighbors dragging the man from his car. Witnesses said one of the men, later identified as Israel, was beating the victim in the head with a hammer before both men dragged the victim into the woods.

The men drove off in the victim's car, but abandoned it. Deputies said fingerprints from the car led them to Bender and Israel after witnesses identified them as the suspects. Israel was arrested at his home on Celery Avenue in Sanford.

The victim was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he underwent emergency brain surgery and is currently on life support. His identity has not been released.

Israel and Bender are being held at the county jail on no bond.
