Medical cost are exploding and have been for some time because of the reasons I listed.
How do we mange that?

Just making everyone buy insurance will not lower costs - in fact CBO now claims the cost of the program will be more than double original estimates - so the cost of the mandate would have to double. The government has a terrible history of controlling costs and they will continue to heap on more mandates to providers increasing the costs more and more every year.

Obama gets point for trying but if its thrown out

If you call being the most divisive president in history, locking out the other party and ramming through his plan using tricks a point - then you're being ridiculous. That said - if it's unconstitutional then it's garbage and needs to be redone anyway.

but if its thrown out then republicans have no choice but to propose something else.

I think they welcome the opportunity to see how they can help to reduce costs or create a catastrophic plan people can buy if they choose.
