Yes I've seen the poll, you posted it to me before. I am not highly confident that it correctly reflects reality. But if it does, the data still has confusing results, such as a small percentage of Americans thinking both evolution and creationism are false, and even worse (since its apparently contradictory) a small percentage believing both are true.

Any number of odd ideas will have plenty of people supporting them, so I suppose its possible that a majority of Republicans don't believe in evolution, but if your own link is to be believed 40% of Democrats don't believe in it either.

All of which is irrelevant to the point that - "There is no contradiction or conflict between believing that evolution is the driver of the diversity and creation of new species, and being a Republican".

In fact the data you link to, if considered accurate, confirms my point, since its shows that plenty of Republicans do "believe in evolution".
