Hate to admit it but Koan is right on this one. Liberals were responsible for the civil rights bill. Remember the Republican Party used to be pro business but not particularly conservative other than that. There was a schism in the Republican party when Goldwater was elected their nominee and the parties re-organized around more idealogical lines. lj
