All I am saying is that our civilzation sprung from liberal arts. I see so many people seeing liberal arts as useless (especially on the right) when its study is the most important of all learning. In science they have a term called "knowledge directed perception" which says that one cannot see (in their minds eye) what they do not understand.

Every time BCB posts I can easily see what he is missing. It isn't his fault, he just doesn't see it. So one can decide to go through life blind to reality (ignorance is bliss), or they can make an effort to see and face reality.

The first step in learning what reality is, is a good grounding in the liberal arts. Engineering is like a trade. Like being a stone mason. It takes great knowledge and learning, but it is not connected to understanding the world of ideas.
