That is really what Aristotle, Plato, Mark Twain, Will Rogers, Steinbeck and all the rest of the big thinkers was about. .

How many in that list had PhDs?

And while philosophical and other "big" ideas are important. You over rate their importance when you present them as the thing that developed civilization. They are one part of a large whole, not the source of everything.

We need big clear thinkers to run things.

We often need practical thinkers to run things. And while having knowlege of some big ideas can be useful, all sorts of problems are caused at times when highly educated people try to implement the wrong big ideas (such as socialism)

One gets that from a strong liberal arts education.

Ideally one should. Ofter one doesn't.

As for your insults of specific individuals, they are at least partially false, or at least exaggerated, and also rather irrelevant. But you just couldn't resist getting a dig in against some people you dislike right?
