Bill, you have a point. On the conference call with Babish, he kept pointing out that 355 was going to be either 1/5 or 1/10 of the current AIDS drugs cost that like Merk charges. I think, if things work out, PRLN will be ready to roll 355 out fast, and be low cost. Remember, he said alot of people with AIDS are in developing countries, and they don't have insurance to pay the $50,000 a year for treatment. So 355 does have broader implications than just here in the U.S.
I am interested in one point. I understand it that none of the AIDS drugs actually cures, but only hides or reduces the virus. My understanding is that the AIDS virus is really sneaky, and may re-manifest itself years later. Did Babish say that 355 was a cure or just a treatment? I recall him saying something like it inhibit the T-cell destruction (I probably need to go back and re-read the press release again).
OK, call me Mr. Natural, but I will take a natural drug compound over a synthetic anyday. Synthetics have TONS of side effects. Naturals may have some, but in a lot of cases, are better tolerated. |
