Well, I have known a couple of people who were hooked on oxycontin, and it ruined their lives as well as the lives of their families. And I have heard of a number of others for whom it was equally destructive. I was a guardian ad litem for a few years a few years ago, and drugs were the number 1 reason why parents were failing their children, with pain killer dependency being right up there as either the drug of choice or the gateway drug. It was pretty awful.
