The issue isn't a religious issue. Millions of people have their opinion infunced or even decided by religion, in some cases all their thinking about it may be religious, but that doesn't make the actual issue a religious issue, any more than people thinking theft is wrong because of the ten commandments makes laws against theft a religious issue. The issue is not about religion. It isn't an issue of theology, religious organization, or religious practice. So it isn't a religious issue. Deciding either way on the issue does not establish a religion.
