My industry contacts suggest just the opposite re ifmx. IFMX may be renewd in some form or another but not in corporate credibility. Indications continue to show ifmx being replaced with oracle servers. My concern is broader, the maturation of the dbms business, and the threat of IBM at the high end and MSFT at the low end.

I don't want to debate the relative merits with you on this thread, but I'm quite sure they have no material impact on oracle's overall business.

Interestingly on the apps side, Oracle's relationships with consultants and systems integrators appears to be imporving as Baan and SAP beef up their consulting infrastructure. Ignoring the problems in the far east, i'd bet you see a pretty solid quarter out of Oracle.

i don't worry about larry's fascination with the NC, it may or may not be important and it's decent pr. I worry about his fasciantion with gates.
