While I'm sure thats a small part of it, there are far more substantive reasons. If a robber is going to pillage a neighborhood, he is going to start with the houses where the owners don't lock their doors.

Mac defenses are weak and underdeveloped, and Apple is slow to patch or even acknowledge problems.

Low lying fruit. A much easier target. More bang for your buck. Insert you favorite metaphor here ___.
