withdrawing before the pennsylvania primary There was a real chance that Santorum was going to lose Pennsylvania (again). Romney placed a multi-million dollar media buy for the next two weeks. If Santorum lost his home state (again), it would have been both humiliating and very damaging to any future credibility. At least he was wise enough to know that he was defeated.
