I watched most of the speech. Obama is doing a good job at managing the crowd. He rallies against the wealthy - and demands "fairness" for his listeners. The rich are a good target. Most people are not going to shed tears for those who earn a million bucks a year. Of course, an increase in taxes on the relatively few super earners will not do much for the deficits. BUT, in the meantime, the listeners feel that Obama is their man, that he "fights for their interests". Implicitly, the Rep's fight for the few rich.

Neat trick.
