Thanks for the correction. I hadn't caught the mistake, but I should have. The phrase "sine qua non" should have sprung to mind. It's actually a phrase that applies to Apple and brings this discussion back to at least being nearly on topic.

But I now see why the Spanish word for without is "sin."

In Swedish, it's "utan". Swedes are weird.
