Ever notice how regularly serious earthquakes plague Mexico but that there are rarely any reports about falling buidlings?

A relative on the Mexican side of the family tree was a serious (and I do mean serious) student of seismic phenomena. Check out his credentials - he's the second guy in this article relating how he got some serious award/prize. I gather he could have designed something quake-proof for you but he is unfortunately dead.

That branch of the tree is wild - world class engineers and mathematicians and, oddly, artists. The nearer-to-me part of the branches are also populated by lots and lots of engineers. I am the renegade lawyer. vbg.
