DELL just reported 0.69/shr earnings (about 4 cents better than estimated of 65 cents/shr and in line with the whisper number). The following is also stated in their earnings report:

Solid Demand Outlook;...

"The outlook for overall demand in the computer systems industry remains very healthy,"
said Mr. Dell. "Declines in key component costs combined with improved processor performance are likely to drive continued strong demand as we move into the new year."

Since LSI continues to be percieved to be heavuly involved in PC (eventhough in realaity it is really not that dependent on the PC market. But who cares since it is the perception these days that drives the price!) would the above statement be good for LSI (since the demand is healthy) or can it be viewed as not so great or neutral since the main reason for the increase in demand (at a consumer level) can be attributed to the low cost in components?

Addi Jamshidi
