I've just returned from Comdex. Several manufactures were displaying their HDTV equipment. LG electronics along with Zenith had a couple HDTV's with over the air broadcast. Almost every major manufacture had their solution for converter boxes. DVD is becoming more important to both the entertainment and the computer industry. I suspect writable DVD will replace CD ROM's and VCR's in the future. Panasonic displayed a killer home theater, that had a large projection TV with a 200 MHz mmx computer system inside, Internet access, DVD and surround sound. Flat screen LCD displays were very common and many were more than 29". I expect Digital TV will reinvent the computer and entertainment industries. Maybe we will see a few new Microsoft's appear.
