>> Political reporters — all of whom are history nerds at heart
Chris, the problem with this article is that they are also all liberals at heart. And as such, they cannot CONCEIVE of their boy Obama getting beaten in the election. It just doesn't seem possible. After they pulled off the win in 08, they are just so certain they'll be able to repeat it this time.
Of course, the voters have subsequently come to realize what an incompetent stuffed shirt Obama is. Even with all the media support, Obama is managing a 40-45% approval rating -- and as you no, presidents don't get re-elected with figures like that. And this is after months of Obama hiding out and watching on TV as everyone from Krauthammer to George Will have been beating the living shit out of Romney.
Unless Obama has another bin Laden to kill or can suddenly report he has eliminated the deficit, he's in deep shit. Even the Left can't stand him. I was listening to a leftwing nutjob talk show today, and practically every caller (the host asked for "undecideds" to call in) said words to the effect, "I'm undecided, but I just cannot vote for Obama." The man is in trouble.
As Romney starts to point out that unemployment isn't at 8%, it is closer to 14 or 15%, that the debt has gone up in three years what it took the "big-spender" Bush eight years to do, the "constitutional law professor's" only legislative achievement is tossed out for being unconstitutional, and the innumerable other failures, he's sunk.
Any other outcome would be a devastating tragedy and everyone knows it. |
