What I wonder is whether the US and Europe will completely decouple.. USD goes up.. US bonds goes up.. US stock market goes up... Gold goes up... All in a panic flight for the choicest remaining assets as what remains of wealth in Europe and Asia flees to what they perceive as the assets, those denominated in US Dollars... Exploding like a big supernova... appearing to be a brilliant display, but one that collapses in upon itself in a hyper-deflation and depression... I could see such a scenario if we have a global "bank run" against NON-US Dollar currencies. We already see a huge demand for US Dollars that is requiring the Fed to enter into Trillion dollar Swaps with Europe.. So anything traded in dollars would rise in price. Hawk
