4-feet of hail in panhandle of Texas. Wow! That was wave #1.

news.yahoo.com

Wave #2 storm is now dropping over California and will cross the mountains. Warm front will spawn heavy thunderstorms from OKC to Minneapolis on Saturday. Low core will travel up into northern Great Lakes...expect snow (2-3 inches) in northern MN and UP MI late weekend. Once core hits on Monday, the cold front will energize...San Antonio through Houston to Memphis to Indianapolis...severe/tornadic storms Monday PM (midnight pictured below).

A high-wind solar stream impacted Earth early Friday AM (Apr-13)...Kp=5 but not long-lasting. I don't expect much deviation from this forecast track. Lots of hail means lots of buoyancy = cold-air aloft, expected for April as ground heats up but upper-atmosphere is still cold from winter. Buoyancy is favorable for severe weather, and wave #1 shows potential instability for wave #2 (more organized system) to feed off of.

So...this is like a diary to archive my notes/observations.
