56K is 70% faster than 28K MANSFIELD, Mass., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Motorola Inc Information Systems Group (ISG) today announced it is spearheading an industry effort to standardize new high-speed modem technologies. Motorola also announced plans for standards-based modems allowing data connections up to 56 Kbps -- 70 percent faster than today's fastest modems -- as part of its broader line of ISDN, cable modem and other high-speed communications products.
