Inode, > I just don't see drug addicts as useless pieces of human garbage to be locked up behind bars for the rest of their lives.

Who said they should be locked up behind bars for the rest of their lives? Of course they should get treatment.

You claimed that not all drug addicts are unable to function in everyday life. Sure, those in beginning stages of addiction might be just fine, but the path they're going down is an express lane to ruin.

Like I said, if you want to hire these people and help them on the road to recovery, more power to you.

But if you want to create more people who will end up needing treatment for addiction, or look the other way while the dealers continue to sell their s--t to these folks, then I'm sorry, but count me out.

And that's exactly what legalization will do. It won't shrink government, but it will lead to societal ruin.
