This is the weekly update of the Group and SOXM(SOX) tables in terms of earnings estimates and price changes.

First, looking at the earnings estimates, there was no change for the Group. The SOXM drifted lower again this week as a continuation of last week's falloff. CURR Yr earnings estimate set another new low this week. There has been a long slow decrease in this number since the interim high set last 3/4/11 of 47.77 to the low of 34.30 set this week. That is a difference of -28.2 percent. The SOX index has tended to follow this falloff in the same manner. Two weeks earlier than 3/4/11 on 2/18/11, the SOX set an interim high of 471.46 and this past Friday closed at 416.43, a loss of 11.7 percent.

Now let's look at the SOX index. The SOX has been down for the last 2 weeks. Looking at the past performance, the odds are that next week it will finish in the green. The last time the SOX was down 3 weeks in a row was the period of 6/3/11 thru 6/17/11. Since that time until now, the SOX has been down 2 weeks in a row 5 times with the 3rd week turning to green. With earnings reports getting into full swing this coming week, chances are that the market will respond positively since the reports are expected to be good. I'll take a guess and go for a 10 point bounce next week.
