I would guess exposure at an early age, witnessing the hypocrisy and basically giving religion an honest chance before it defied belief.

Those who convert later in life tend to be more hardline as they become Christians out of a spiritual crisis and cling on to it. However our little couch potato Christians on this thread are poor examples of what Christians in days of yore were like. Those olden time Christians were not looking for Utopia here on earth they were out to have their mettle tested for the next life. Gregoree trembles under his covers at the mere thought of such trials and tribulations.
