Hi BJP1946....About Q4 Results

>>By the way, I'm betting tomorrow's report will be just fine.<<

If I understood correctly what you stated, this means that Novell will meet or exceed the consensus estimates for Q4. Here are the estimates we are talking about:

---------------------------
quote.yahoo.com

Consensus Estimates
This Quarter (Oct 97) 0.00
---------------------------

There is no way that they will meet these estimates. They will lose money. Probably in 2-3 quarters, they will start making money. To be specific, here is my estimate for Q4:

Revenues: 220M
Total Expenses: 280M
Income: 15M
Loss before taxes: 220+15-280 = -45M
Tax rate: 45% (not sure about this number, but this is what they used for Q3)
Tax credit: 45x.45 = 20M
Net loss: -45+20 = -25M
Shares: 350M
EPS: -25/350 = -$.07

I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with results worse than my expectations, they have done it consistently. Let's wait and see if the results will be closer to 0.0 or -.07. Sleep well since you are betting on it, I'm not.

Regards

Salah
