The Big Lie Started In The Year 2000

Posted on April 16, 2012 by Steven Goddard

The year 2000 appears to have been when the US government started lying about climate and tampering with climate data on a grand scale.

The year 2000 National Climate Assessment included this line

Over the 20th century, the average annual US temperature has risen by almost 1°F (0.6°C)

However, ten years earlier NOAA and CRU said the exact opposite.

Last week, scientists from the United States Commerce Department’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that a study of temperature readings for the contiguous 48 states over the last century showed there had been no significant change in average temperature over that period.

Dr. Jones said in a telephone interview today that his own results for the 48 states agreed with those findings.

Satellite data shows that there was little increase in US temperatures during the time between the NOAA report and the NCA report.

The mythical one degree US warming, which is now a critical part of the global warming big lie, was created by Tom Karl and James Hansen in the year 2000 – as seen in the GISS animation below.

Is it a coincidence that Michael Mann also erased the Medieval Warm Period around that time?
