Keats has been appointed as a director and, effective December 1 1997, to the position of president and chief operating officer. Mr Keats, former vice-president of exploration of Diamond Fields, was directly responsible for the exploration program at Diamond Fields' Voisey's Bay nickel-copper-cobalt property in Labrador. Prior to joining Diamond Fields, Mr Keats spent 25 years with Falconbridge Limited where he held many senior executive positions including exploration manager for Falconbridge Chile S.A., general manager exploration for Falconbridge International Limited and director, Nickel Laterite Exploration.
