i was working in nyc in a big department store in 1979, Conran's.. which was a new concept, two floors of the Citicorp building in the atrium (one of the first atrium buildings and on a massive scale). the loading dock guy was crazy about gold and buying, as much as he could.

the crash happened shortly thereafter. he broke even 20 years later when the metal when past 800. the intra day high at the london close at the top was over 900 on a spike. but 800 is considered the top to beat.

the bottom was 252/oz in 2000. 12 years later the high price has tempted 1900. you know today's price.

look out for shoeshine boys, cab drivers, and loading dock babies.

so far.. all of the three are still selling their bling at the corner we buy gold shops. no worries.

what else would you like to know?
