The 2Q earning is around the corner and it seems that earning estimate are all over the place ranging from the Apple official guidance to $14 and beyond. The 14 week Dec quarter make the comparison and modeling of this Q earning a lot harder. I read all 23 pages of this thread which is very helpful in putting a perspective of where everyone think of..

I am still thinking 40 million Iphone and 12 million Ipad sales in 1Q12 but the conviction is getting lower as I read more "realistic" estimates.

Zax posted a Window 8 tablet spec article in Appletank thread which should be interesting to all here.. Ipad 3 has weight of 1.46 lb (for 4G model) and a thickness of 9.4 mm. And Ipad 2 is 1.32lb and a thickness about 8.8 mm. Since the article did not talk about display resolution, so I guess it is the now standard 1024x768. If it is the case, Apple battery engineering work is still quite far ahead. There is no discussion on the price either but my guess is that they will have to match Ipad price and weather they can make money out of it (rumor is that Intel chip set is more expensive than ARM based chip set.. and with so many manufacturer all building the Window 8 tablet at the same time, they probably won't have a tremendous run and per unit manufacturing cost will be much higher than Apple or even Samsung).
