It's not like they have any experience with ARM-based tablet form factors.

You are kidding, right? Heard of Windows CE?

If Windows 8 x86 tablets can truly come out with "no compromises," there's no reason why Nokia won't put out x86 tablets rather than an ARM ones

Many are skeptical Intel can really compete in low-power with ARM, despite their claims and press releases. Most Windows users will in general will take the x86 compatibility over the extra ARM battery life. Frankly, I don't care if my tablet has a fan (a la Acer Iconia tablet). This is why (it is rumored that ) Windows RT will include Microsoft Office for free, and also why I believe Nokia is going to get muchos incentevos if not good old hard cold cash to help here. Of course, software compiled in VS2011 will be able to trivially target both platforms going forward... but getting Windows RT accepted in the marketplace is going to take extraordinary efforts, marketing and incentives.

There is an individual who has been exhibiting some stalker-like behavior with me on SI whom I have on ignore. I'm seeing any number of blank messages on several threads as a result. If these messages are intended for my eyes, be assured, they are not getting there. My ignore is not pretend. :)
