Chanos Shorting Coinstar (CSTR), Dell (DELL)

April 12, 2012 8:04 AM EDT

Overall Analyst Rating:
BUY (= Flat)

EPS Growth %: +91.3%

Traders should watch Coinstar (Nasdaq: CSTR) shares as hedge-fund manager Jim Chanos just discussed the stock on CNBC's Squawk Box. Chanos said he is currently shorting Coinstar, as he believes growth in the DVD rental market is slowing.

Chanos also suggested he was short Dell (Nasdaq: DELL). The President of Kynikos Associates put it simply: "tablets are taking over."

Both Coinstar and Dell have not yet moved on the comments, however the bid/asks imply a lower open.
