I was watching an Obama interview last night. The interviewer brought up that he had many complaints of excessive vacation. Obama at first seemed incredulous but quickly recovered and then smiled and laughed it off. That is why he is likeable to many. He mentions on one of his books that he uses similar techniques to allay the fears of his opponents. In a way he reminds me of Dian Reahm the NPR radio show host. She could advocate the holocaust but her voice was so calm that it sounded reasonable.

Ronal Reagan had a similar quality which he often used against his critics. One of my favorites was hi comment on his opponent's youth and inexperience when Reagan was being criticized for being too old to be President.
