david, I think you need to do more research.
cpq manufacturers it's own SMT for all the boards that go into

their pc...
these board components are exclusively asian origin.

Plus their low cost pc sub 800 is from Taiwan and is assy'ed in USA.
But, the motherbd is made there.
The boards in a pc are a significant part of cost.
Plus it's the exchange rates that are dropping the cost..
So, hdd cost drop more..It's exchange rates..
punch this in and do some graphs.
Drams in servers are from the far east and the drams in servers is still expense. they use as much a a 256mb module there.

IT AIN'T negligible!!!!!!!!!!!

graph the currencies of these countries and you will see what I'm talking about.
japan,korea,taiwan
pacific.commerce.ubc.ca

I've been through this many times before...
it has the effect of really dropping cost..
plus we are having a europe rebound and a strong one.
this is going to really mean extra sales..

The Japanese are going to support the koreas problem, they are going to make sure the holders of the failed security house are paid off.
the japanese say that the problem is oveblown and they need no help and predicted things over by christmas.
