So, do you have any other rebuttal to the "Java and Sun" argument?

I've seen a lot of hyped things in this industry. I got suckered into the expert system craze of the last 1980's. I believed every word "they" said.

IMO Java is our Atom Bomb. Just a way to save the world as quickly as possible.
