Cell phones do not work in remote areas . There was a time when I could be on the top of Phantom mountain and get a call out to my wife , since stuff went digital that is no longer possible . There are a lot of places that cell phones used to work and they no longer do . Had a mess of areas in remote locations marked on maps that a call could be made from . You can not get a call out from the same locations today .
In some places you can see the tower but you do not get a signal . Mcnab lions are a good example ....
