What does "working" mean to you? I think you think that if you give heroin to a heroin addict while he's experiencing withdrawal symptoms, and if that heroin injection makes him feel temporarily better, then you declare that your medicine is "working". In my book, you are making him feel better in the short run, but killing him in the longer run. So no, massive deficits and money printing and all the other tricks being used are not "working". All they are doing is giving us the illusion that things are better, when in reality, labor participation is dropping off a cliff. Tax revenues are not rising with as fast as expenditures. Debt is getting more monumental by the day. More people than ever are on welfare and Entitlement spending is out of control and not sustainable. Your medicine is killing the patient. But it sure is wonderful for the 1%. They are doing better than ever thanks to socialism for the top 1% and Darwinism for the unwashed masses.
