Fellow Conservatives,
It's in our grasp. Lugar is desperate. Mourdock edges ahead in the polls. Undecideds usually go for the challenger. All he needs now is $ to continue the TV ads. Please put aside for a moment the useless exchanges on this board and actually DO SOMETHING that will make a difference. Richard Mourdock is the kind of candidate that will fight for Conservative principles.. We can not let him down. ACT NOW!

Thursday morning

Dear Conservatives,

It's Richard here. I'm just going to get right to the point: After more than a year of campaigning, victory is in our grasp . We are so close!

The latest poll shows us leading Senator Lugar 42% to 41% with a significant amount of voters undecided. The National Review just endorsed our campaign, and we actually out-raised Lugar's campaign last quarter. (He's still got a ton more in the bank that he'd already raised from the D.C. insider crowd.) And if you need any more evidence that we've got Lugar running scared, just look at those dishonest TV ads that he's been so relentlessly running! He wouldn't be doing that if he wasn't terrified. We've got this guy on the ropes. And he knows it.

Here's the deal though: My team is telling me I've got to come up with at least another $500,000 on television ads if we're going to win this thing. You've been so generous, and I can't tell you how much it means to me, but we have still not quite been able to show broadcast television ads in every part of the state yet. Meanwhile, Senator Lugar is running television ads in every market in Indiana (and even some that cover Illinois!).

I've just got to raise this money right now so I can put these ads statewide. Will you consider an immediate contribution of $50 RIGHT NOW to help fund these commercials and fight back?

I know I'm asking a lot. Times are tough for folks right now. And I absolutely hate asking people for money. That's why I've invested as much of my own money into this race as I could. Because I would never ask you to do something I wouldn't do myself.

But if you can, please consider making the most generous donation you can afford. If you can't do $50, would you consider $35? And If you can afford more, we can take contributions all the way up to $2,500 per person. Whatever you can do right now would mean a ton to me. I won't forget it.

Folks, after a year of being told we couldn't possibly win, this thing is in our grasp. If we can put together the money required we are going to win this Republican primary and Indiana will send a conservative to the Senate. So if you can, I hope you'll help us finish off strong and get these TV ads on the air.

Thanks again for all you've done. I mean it.

Sincerely,

Richard Mourdock
Indiana State Treasurer and Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate
