You know you are getting old when... Back about 10 years ago thereabouts, we used to socialize with these two couples in town. Mostly we'd go to this one couple's house, the adults would have dinner, and the kids would go play somewhere. Suffice to say the topic often turned to subjects of zero interest to me so I eventually just said no. Every so often I see the guy around town and feel like I should say hello, but don't. Nor does he. Anyhow, today I find out his daughter is this mega huge super model now that travels all over the world. Oh. Kind of like, guys my age can still enjoy looking at the SI Swimsuit edition (which she's not in), but there's something not right about getting any enjoyment from the daughter of a friend you knew when she was quite underage. I feel like now I can actually make small talk with the guy (e.g. "Congrats on your daughter being gawked at by millions... I remember when..."), but then you don't really want to remember, or acknowledge what may be perceived as socially awkward. So I write about it here and move on. - Jeff
